York Park and RideThe city of York currently has five Park & Ride sites operating in York. They allow you to travel to York by car, park for free in secure car parks and ride into the centre on a bus. Fares are low with up to two accompanied children under 16 travelling free. Discounts are available for regular users.
The first park and ride sites on entering York from the major roads are as follows: If you are entering York from the A64, the first park and ride site is Askham Bar - White Line. Visitors to York from Beverley and Hull via the A1079 will enter York from the Grimston Bar park and ride site - Yellow line. Visitors to York from the east coast, Scarborough, Malton and Pickering will approach the city via the Monks Cross park and ride site - Silver line. If you are entering York from the A19 Selby-Doncaster road then the McArthur Glen - Red Line is York's first park and ride site. Visitors to York from Harrogate and Skipton using the A59 road will encounter the Rawcliffe bar - Green line as the first park and ride site. All sites are open to travel to York city centre seven days a week except McArthur Glen which is only open Monday to Saturday. Fares * Standard day return £2.00 - available to buy on the bus * Single £1.70 - available to buy on the bus * Weekly Smartcard £7.00 - available from the site offices * Monthly Smartcard £25.00 (per calendar month) - available from the site offices * Stored Value Smartcard return £1.60 Overnight parking is not allowed on Park & Ride sites in York. |
