Former International in York 9's

Former Great Britain centre Gary Connolly, now with European champions Munster, will make a cameo return to rugby league this weekend in the York International 9s. The ex-Wigan and St Helens star will be playing for Barrie McDermott's Ambassadors alongside the former Leeds and Great Britain prop and another former international, Daryl Powell. French sides Lezignan, Lyon and Toulouse Ovalie are also taking part in the event which coincides with the Bastille Day celebrations. The 2006 York International 9s offers 62 high quality rugby games packed into 13 hours of high speed and skilful action. All this against a backdrop of the beautiful Yorkshire country side. Quite literally mingle with the Stars as professional players past and present will be available to sign autographs.
